Everton’s Sam Allardyce makes more embarrassing comments during his latest dig at NUFC

Just when we thought he was done spouting rubbish and massaging his own ego, Sam Allardyce is back – comparing himself to Diego Simeone, defending his style of play and knocking Rafa’s Newcastle for our negative approach to Monday’s game.

He’s some bloke. He came out during his Sky interview saying “What was wrong with our style today?”, suggesting they ‘completely dominated’ the game and ‘out-passed the opposition’.  It was as if his Everton side had just blown us away in a convincing and impressive 3-0 win.

He also went on to criticise Rafa’s negative tactics – which is incredible really given Everton had just one shot on target (something his side has managed to do on FIVE separate occasions at Goodison this season).

His latest comments today don’t get much better either:

“What is entertainment? Entertainment is the master of defence in Europe, Simeone. Is that entertainment?

“He is called the master of his trade, has only conceded four goals at home all season. I’m seen as defensive and too negative.

“From where we started to where we are now, we’ve not only achieved the goal we achieved, but we have achieved some extremely entertaining games that we’ve played and when you look at Newcastle why was it difficult? It takes two to tango.

“Did Newcastle come and want to try and come out their own half? No.

“Did Newcastle ever try and attack apart from the last 10 minutes? No.

“Entertainment comes by both teams being a bit more open and adventurous.

“Newcastle were not adventurous whatsoever so that’s why we controlled the game and had to be very, very patient to wait for our opportunity and when we got our opportunity we struck.

“Newcastle then came out the last 10 minutes and we had to defend, and we did that very well to win the match.”

No wonder Everton fans are pushing to get the man sacked this summer.

I mean, Jordan Pickford ‘shushing’ us and Big Sam beating Benitez has left me a bit bitter this week, but a honest and traditional club like Everton really do deserve better than Allardyce – a man who speaks a lot of rubbish, plays a lot of long ball and inspires so few.

  1. Why oh why do these “sports writers” and I use the term very loosely!!? keep giving any of these people a platform to speak. If it’s **** info flush down the pan!!! I only want positive comments about my team. Yes of course constructive criticism is an excellent addition but this stuff is pure ACID and a million miles from what the intelligent readers know 😎 😎
