Alan Shearer rubs salt into Alan Pardew’s wounds after ’embarrassing’ stat emerges – oh dear

Following their 1-0 win at St James’, it has been confirmed that caretaker manager Darren Moore has now earned more wins in 4 games than Alan Pardew managed in half a season with the Baggies – a stat Alan Shearer has branded as ’embarrassing’ for the ex-NUFC boss.

In typically honest fashion, Shearer said what we were all thinking in response to West Brom’s impressive turnaround in form since Pardew’s sacking, saying Alan will be sat at home scratching his head after seeing how Darren Moore has suddenly got them playing.

In his four games in charge as West Brom’s caretaker manager, he’s earned home draws with Swansea and Liverpool and pulled off impressive 1-0 away wins over Man Utd and ourselves.

Speaking on Match of the Day, here’s what Shearer had to say after Gary Lineker revealed that Moore now has more wins (2) in 4 attempts than Alan Pardew managed during 18 games at the Hawthorns:

“It’s pretty embarrassing for Alan Pardew.

“He’ll be sat at home thinking ‘why on earth the players are playing like that’?”

“They tried to change style, and basically the player weren’t good enough to do that.”

Pardew really has been shown up big time here, and I have no sympathy for the bloke. Just look at how arrogant (and deluded) the bloke was when taking over at West Brom back in November last year:

Several of his ex-players have since admitted they had no idea what they were supposed to be doing when he was in charge, and that’s highlighted by Darren Moore’s superb work in such a short space of time since he’s stepped in.

Hopefully the last we see of Pards in the Premier League – although I highly doubt that will be the case!
