Former Sunderland star fires brutal dig at Alan Pardew – NUFC & West Brom fans will love this

He may have been boo’d on Saturday for being an ex-Mackem, but Newcastle fans will enjoy what West Brom winger James McClean has had to say about Alan Pardew – claiming the players now finally ‘know what they’re doing’ on the pitch now he’s been sacked!

Following the Baggies 1-0 win at St James’ Park on Saturday, caretaker boss Darren Moore has now picked up as many points in 4 games (8 points) as Alan managed in 18 attempts this season.

Several West Brom players have since spoken out about Pardew since he was sacked last month, and James McClean’s assessment is possibly the most damning.

Here’s what the former Sunderland winger has had to say about the former Newcastle boss:

“No disrespect to Alan, but when we go out on the pitch now, we know what we’re doing”

I love how he says ‘no disrespect to Alan’, only to go on and completely disrespect him, suggesting players didn’t have a clue what they were supposed to be doing during his 18 games in charge.

“We were told to go out and play but we didn’t really work on how we play that way.

“We were told to play with more freedom, but you’ve got a group of players who, under our previous manager Tony, were more defensive and a lot more drilled.

“We were told to go out and play a different way without really working on that.”

An amusing insight into the wonderful ways of Alan Pardew – a man who has picked up just 12 points from a possible 84 over his last 28 games with West Brom and Palace.

We laugh, but he’ll probably still manage to land himself another Premier League job one of these days. What a time to be alive!
