According to the Mail, West Brom’s Nacer Chadli will be available to buy for £17m this summer should the Baggies go down – a player Rafa Benitez may consider as we look to bolster our attacking midfield options this summer.
We’ve lacked quality and experience in the number 10 role over the past few seasons, and a fit Nacer Chadli would give us that.
He’s not the only West Brom player who have relegation release clauses in their contracts either, with Jonny Evans and Salomon Rondon being available for £3m and £16.5m respectively if the Baggies do eventually do gown.
Nacer Chadli – PL experience, can play no.10 or out wide & could give us that injection of goals/assists we've lacked all season? #nufc
Worth a look this summer if #WBA go down? pic.twitter.com/9UKA223G0U

There’s a few reasons why this deal may be unrealistic, however. We may be woefully short of experience, but him turning 29 this summer makes a potential £17m fee seem a little high. He’s also missed a large chunk of this season following a troubling hip injury.
It’d be a risky deal, but a fit and firing Nacer Chadli would be a quality addition – being a player who could operate effectively both out wide or in the number 10 role.
I wouldn’t bank on it, but the Belgian international is a quality player who could give us that contribution of goals and assists that we’ve lacked almost all season.
