NUFC linked with exciting summer move for Spanish speedster – Everton & Chelsea also keen

According to the Mirror, Rafa Benitez remains interested in signing Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore – however it’s claimed that Chelsea are ‘leading the chase’ to sign the £30m-rated winger this summer.

The 22-year-old was very much hit and miss during Boro’s relegation season in 2016/17, however he has lit up the Championship ever since Tony Pulis’ arrival on Teeside – improving his ends product with 5 goals and 12 assists.

He’s been described as the ‘best player in the Championship’ by many this season, and it’s easy to see why. His unique and unstoppable blend of pace, power and dribbling is quite frightening, with few being able to stop him:

We were linked with a move for the Spanish U-21 international last summer but ended up signing Jacob Murphy, with the Chronicle claiming we were priced out of a move – refusing to pay his alleged £15m price tag at the time.

The issue is, that asking price may have gone up considerably, with the Mirror suggesting Chelsea are favourites to sign him this summer for a whopping £30m.

It may seem excessive, but he’s one hell of a talent and a player I’d absolutely love to see Benitez work with.
