Kenedy sends emotional message to NUFC ahead of his return to Chelsea – worrying words

Kenedy has sent a heartfelt goodbye to everyone involved at Newcastle United ahead of his return to Chelsea this week, saying it was an ‘amazing chapter in my life and I will never forget it’ – a message that made many fear he won’t be returning this summer.

The Brazilian wasn’t able to play against parent club Chelsea due to loan rules, however he was in good spirits with the squad during the lap of honour in the moments after yesterday’s thumping win at St James’ Park to end the season in style.

Here’s his message to ‘every single person’ connected to NUFC on his Instagram account:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Newcastle United.

“Thank you to all the players every single person of the great staff the coach Rafa Benitez who trusted me and gave me chance to play for this great club which I very much enjoyed and of course to the all fans for the magnificent support.

“It was an amazing chapter in my life and I will never forget it. Howay the Toon!”

A great message and one that shows just how much he’s appreciated the love from NUFC fans and the big chance he’s been handed by Benitez to shine.

I would absolutely love to see him back, but the way this is worded makes me wonder if he’s not expecting it. ‘I will never forget it’ and an ‘amazing chapter in my life’ suggests to me that he’s not expecting to return.

It would be great for all parties if he could come back, but only Mike Ashley can make that happen. Signing him would be a real statement of intent and something that would certainly boost our chances of keeping Benitez.
