Sam Allardyce sacked by Everton – & NUFC fans are going to absolutely love how he’s reacted

Some amusing news for us NUFC fans this morning, with confirmation that Everton have SACKED Sam Allardyce – leaving the ex-Newcastle boss ‘shocked, disappointed and disgusted’ by the club.

Allardyce attended the annual end of season LMA Awards Dinner in London on last night, and he’s been left ‘shocked’ that Everton went ‘behind his back’ to reveal a major re-structuring of their board while he was at the event.

He clearly wants a big pat on the back for keeping a team (forgetting they spent in excess of £150m over 2017/18 so expect much more than that), yet in reality, Everton fans are justifiably seeing this season as a big missed opportunity to finish 7th and get back into Europe.

He’s not happy though – not that Everton fans will care. Here’s what he’s had to say:

“I’m shocked, disappointed and disgusted that the football club didn’t have the decency to tell me, my Director of Football and my staff about the changes.

“They must have been in the pipeline for a considerable time but no-one thought to tell me and my staff. I’m pretty disgusted.

“I came into the football club with the team struggling and we have finished 8th in the table. I’m more than happy with what myself, my staff and the players have achieved from when I came in.”

I don’t know why he should feel so offended. Personally, I’d be offended as an Everton fan to see them beat us 1-0 in an truly turgid affair and act like they played us off the park – with just one shot on target..

He should’ve known by now that he was never going to be part of any future project taking place at Goodison. He’s an expert at keeping teams up and crippling them in the long-term, so Everton have done a good job in sacking him before any real damage was done.

Just look at these stats. He may have kept them up (which was never in doubt, let’s be honest) and got them up to 8th, but he’s been playing some of the worst football Everton fans are likely to have ever seen at Goodison.

They may have done the double over us this season with two one nil wins, but we saw just how awful they looked, and that’s Big Sam for you. He’ll somehow find a way to win, but christ it’s uninspiring – made even more annoying given how arrogant he tends to be in post-match interviews.

Good riddance.

  1. Another massive payout….Doubt he is that disappointed from his luxury holiday planning what to buy with all those £££Millions…….His phone will already be ringing.

  2. While it’s always fun to take the P155 out of Fat Sam, that’s yet another club with a bit of cash looking for a quality manager.

  3. Sam Allardyce should be banned from managing any club in England for the next 10 years. It was far more of a disgrace when he took a bung as England manager, and embarrassed himself, the FA and England fans across the country! He plays a horrible style of football and should be punished rather than rewarded with new managment positions in England. #SMB

  4. Where will he be buying his next holiday home – the Seychelles?
No doubt calling this one Goodison Park.
His bank manager is the only person who loves him. 😀
