The last thing we needed today on top of talk linking Rafa to the West Ham job, but it has emerged that Mike Ashley’s £400m valuation could ‘effectively take the club off the market” – with the Sun claiming that Amanda Staveley is close to ending her interest as a result.
Sky reported that Ashley had set a new £400m valuation after Premier League safety was confirmed and this seems to have put off any potential buyers – including Amanda Staveley.
The Sun claim that Benitez’s future at the club could have been dependant on a takeover talks reopening (with him knowing full well that Ashley would refuse to match his ambition), but it seems things have gone the other way.
It’s also reported that Benitez did not take kindly to Ashley’s latest statement, seeing the ‘every penny’ made by the club quote as another signal that no additional funds will be made available, and he’ll rely on cash from outgoings to bring in new players.
Could this affect Rafa's #NUFC future? https://t.co/R5tzYBD4Ub

It’s such a mess at the minute and one Mike Ashley MUST sort out. It seems clear that Rafa would stay if Ashley at least made attempts to compromise and give Benitez the control he needs to take us forward, but those talks appear to be dragging on.
The longer his future at NUFC remains unresolved, the more likely it is that Rafa looks for another job. A horrible thought, but with Ashley unlikely to sell and Benitez’s ambitions being ignored, could you blame him for considering other offers?
Attention seeking garbage sick of reading this tripe. Why the hell would he want to go to West Ham? They have a soulless fab base stadium and worse owners than us they are not as big as Newcastle so ffs change the record.
