According to reports in Germany, Newcastle have made an offer to sign highly-rated defender Josha Vagnoman – only for the player to reject a move in favour of remaining with recently relegated side, Hamburg.
The 17-year-old defender is rated as one of the best young prospects in German football and was strongly linked with a move to England in January – with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all tipped to meet his £3m price-tag.
He’s made just one appearance in the Bundesliga this season – in an away hammering at Bayern Munich – but is a regular in Hamburg’s second string and has been capped at international level for Germany U-17’s and U-18’s.
With this in mind, he would have been another player we were looking to add to our U-23 ranks (with Young Boys’ Yannick Toure being one we’ve already snapped up), however German outlet Hamburger Abendblatt claim our offer has been rejected.

They report that he’s set to sign a professional contract with the club up until 2021 and remain despite their drop down into Germany’s second tier.
It’s good to see we’re at least trying to bring in some talented players for the future, but first we might want to put all our focus on keeping Benitez at the club. If he leaves, the future looks anything but bright.
And what was the reported offer…..?
A bundle of Donay socks and a massive sd mug.
Pay for the man you fat idiot.
ASHLEY OUT….!
