Kenedy drops hint to NUFC fans after returning to Chelsea – a brilliant message from the Brazilian

Chelsea winger Kenedy has opened the door to a potential return to Newcastle United, praising the ‘amazing’ supporters, Rafa Benitez, the staff and all his teammates – stating “Maybe one day I will be back”.

The Brazilian was an inspired January signing by Benitez (and someone he tried to sign last summer), being a major part of our surge to safety and into the top 10.

He’s now returned to Chelsea after his loan deal expired (with no option to buy), however it’s quite clear that Benitez and just about every NUFC fan would love to see him back – and it sounds like he wouldn’t say no either.

Here’s what he’s had to say during his departing message released on the club’s official website in the last few minutes:

“I was glad to come here to Newcastle, one of the biggest clubs in England, and I really appreciated the chance to play,” he said. “I’d like to thank Rafa Benítez because he trusted in me. I really enjoyed my time here – it was very good.

“All the players, all the staff, they made me feel at home. I felt good. I gained confidence from the amazing support and I really enjoyed it. Maybe one day I will be back.”

He then goes on to praise the ‘amazing’ Newcastle United fan – stating he’s ‘never seen support like it’ and feels ‘honoured’ to have played in front of them:

“The first game – my debut – was really, really good because I didn’t expect something like this, and the game against Leicester was amazing because I’d never seen support like that.

“The supporters were really amazing. I really appreciate that because I didn’t expect anything like this.

“The fans were something different. I felt honoured to be here; it was something really special and I’m a fan of Newcastle’s fans.”

There’s a lot of reasons why this deal will be hard to do this summer (even if it’s another loan), but wouldn’t it be brilliant to see this lad back at St James’ Park next season.

He may be given the odd chance at Chelsea and big clubs in Europe may be lurking, but he would be wise to realise that Rafa and NUFC are the best place for his development right now.
