NUFC pushing to strike £15m deal to sign highly-rated Championship duo?

According to recent reports, Newcastle are in the mix to sign Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore and Fulham right-back Ryan Fredericks this summer.

The Yorkshire post claim Traore – a player who has been linked with a move to Tyneside last summer – is a £15m target of Benitez’s, while the Chronicle claim he’s also keen to sign Fredericks on a free after seeing the right-back is yet to agree a new contract with newly promoted Fulham.

People will no doubt feel like we should be aiming higher than ‘Championship players’, but these two have enjoyed outstanding seasons in the second tier and look every bit good enough to make the step up to the top flight.

Traore has bagged 5 goals, 12 assists, got himself named in the Championship team of the season and won an incredible number of man of the mach awards at Middlesbrough last season. His pace and power is frightening and his development under Tony Pulis has been exceptional – making me wonder just how good he could become under Benitez (even if he is still quite raw).

As far as Fredericks is concerned, he’s another lightening quick right-back – but one that could be an improvement on DeAndre Yedlin based on his immense season for Fulham.

He delivered an impressive 9 assists on their way to promotion and impressed me during the play-offs recently.

What do you reckon folks? Would you like to see these two sign for a combined £15m?
