According to Football Ghana, Newcastle United have made ‘big progress’ in our bid to secure the £8m signing of highly-rated Young Boys centre-back Kasim Nuhu.
The 6ft 3′ defender was tentatively linked with a move to Tyneside last month, however it’s being claimed today that the we are now ‘in talks’ to secure an £8m deal for the 22-year-old.
Here’s what FootballGhana.com have had to say on the deal in the last few moments:
“English Premier League side Newcastle United have made a big progress in their bid to capture Ghana defender Kasim Nuhu for £8m.
“Footballghana.com sources close to the player indicate that talks his agents have opened talks with Young Boys over the potential move for the player in the summer.”
Interestingly, the story also states that we had had representatives watching him for Young Boys recently – and it seems like they were left impressed by the towering centre-back.
We’ll take this with a pinch of salt for now, but with Chancel Mbemba edging closer to a move to Anderlecht, could Nuhu be his replacement?
