Newcastle United defender Jesus Gamez has confirmed on social media that he will be leaving this summer after just two years on Tyneside – thanking everyone involved at NUFC for a ‘beautiful experience’ on Tyneside.
The Spaniard arrived on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid in 2016, however he’s made just 10 appearances in all competitions over the last two seasons – playing 7 times during our Championship campaign and appearing just 3 times last season.
He’s out of contract this summer and has not been handed a new deal and has posted this goodbye message to all involved at NUFC to confirm his departure from the club:
It’s time to say goodbye, but not before saying goodbye to all of you ⚫️⚪️ #NUFC ⚽️ All the best @NUFC ? pic.twitter.com/DBKKCBqG9M

I can’t he did much on the pitch, but he has always come across as a good character and an experienced bloke who would’ve been good to have behind the scenes over the past two years.
His 10 games don’t quite do his signing justice, but I shall miss his pre-match motivation posts on social media each time he’s absolutely nowhere to be seen in Rafa’s matchday squads!
All the best Jesus!
