Karma strikes as Aston Villa are threatened with the unthinkable – Priceless news for NUFC fans

It’s emerged that our old friends Aston Villa are in a bit of a pickle, having suspended CEO Keith Wyness as HMRC threaten to hit the club with winding-up order after failing to pay a multimillion pound tax bill – meaning they seriously facing administration.

For clarity here, a ‘winding up order’ is a Court order that forces an insolvent company into compulsory liquidation – meaning the consequences will be terminal if they fail to pay the remaining tax-bill over the next week.

Why is this being reported on a Newcastle United page you may wonder? Well, just two years ago there were banners up at Aston Villa to mock our relegation (and not for the first time). After today’s news, it’s fair to say we are now having the last laugh.

What’s gone on at Villa recently is the very definition of karma. ‘No sobbing on the Holte’ they said as they kicked us when we were down in 2009 and in 2016. How the tables have turned.

Not only are they facing another year in the Championship after losing last month’s play-off final, they are now facing a battle to keep their club alive.

I don’t want to see them go under (it would be an unbearably sad day for so many of their supporters who simply don’t deserve this), but this could hit them hard. They’re almost certain to lose the vast majority of their star players this summer -something they already feared prior to this shocking news.

  1. Is someone presumably from Birmingham actually attempting to disparage Newcastle as a city? He clearly has a scarcity of legs and no options when it comes to somewhere to stand.

  2. Our C.O.E. has been suspended due to remarks made on social media about a referee with reference to being disabled, totally unacceptable in 2018 so carry on sobbing on the Tyne

  3. Not much to say nothing surprises me anymore, the owner has gone into hiding, the chief exec has been suspended, the club is being threatened with a winding up order, half of the players are leaving, we haven’t any money to get new players in, we’re expecting to have to sell Our best players including Jack Grealish, the manager has no idea whether he’s staying or going, and we’re playing Kidderminster in a friendly, apart from that everything is great.
    What a bloody shambles.

I feel for you and the proper Villa fans out there. Really is a shambles mate.

Must admit that though, some of your guys were asking for it after celebrating our relegation twice at Villa Park. It wasn’t just a minority either – chants, banners, the lot.

Hope you survive anyway mate. Not going to act like a have a soft spot for Villa all of a sudden, but it would be an unbearably sad day for so many of your supporters who simply don’t deserve this.

  6. Ftt , Gateshead is quite a nice place actually.
You should come up in a few years time and have a look around the place before going into the International stadium to watch Villa play Gateshead in the National League.

    Better fans? Wow.

The SoL was half empty in the championship while we filled SJP every single week.

Can you explain how Sunderland have ‘better fans’ ?

  8. Villains by name & villains by nature!
Your board can’t even run your club legally.
I literally can’t wait til all your top assists are sold for peanuts.
Releagation battle for villa next season.
    Good luck scumbags!!!

  9. Jesus wept, you Geordies seriously need to get out more. It’s truly pathetic that you’re harboring such hatred over a banner and a bit of banter years ago?

GET OVER IT. Nobody likes you. It’s not just Villa fans. You’re naive if you think it would’ve been any different against any other team.

  10. One pink seat at the stadium of ***** wasn’t empty for long…. After One of your fans took a dump on it during the match…. That’s just dirty!!!!

  11. Did I just read Sunderland have better fans?hahahahahahahaha That same set of fans who couldn’t even sell out in the PL then more than half disappeared as soon as they got relegated. It’s so embarrassingly bad that Sunderland have had to close a upper tier in the stadium because it looks pathetically empty when games were shown on tv. Some Mackems are priceless with their delusions haha

Don’t worry yourself you little ******. We are over it, aswell as being well over Villa, looking down on your sad excuse of a club!
Hope you’s are ready 4 league one after ur relegated! Even your manager is a geordie.
Now jog on & rot away in piece just like those filthy mackems.
    In a bit you pleb!!!

They say geordies are horse punchers yes?
But taking a massive turd in your own stadium is 20 times worse!
Both villa & the spackems can enjoy life in the under belly of english football, coz that is where their gonna stay for many many years. ?

  15. Banter aside, we always have a good old drink up with the Villa when they come to the Toon, and down in Brum so I for one hope this is not true.

English football in in fear of eating itself with owners that think they can make a fast buck…

  16. Don’t they say “what goes round comes round”, “every dog has its day”, “don’t diss the people on your way up as you might have to meet them on the way down”, “you reap what you sow” etc.
Sorry Villa you asked for everything you get. Similar with Sunderland ‘fans’ with their gloating plane trailing banner over our ground and their large, mocking Tyne bridge banner. No sympathy whatsoever for either.
Best to remember to keep your mouths shut next time.

Quality. Pathetic all this rivalry that doesn’t even exist.

  18. Not sure why this is Newcastle news by the way lads. Not sure it concerns you… but if any football fan wants another’s club to go into administration then personally I’d say they should look at wether they’re passionate about football to start with. I blame the new breed of fans. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to lose their club.

    Big love.

  19. Expected better of NUFC to be honest. After a few banners, which by the way 99.9% of Villa fans had nothing to do with. Really not sure why you took it so hard, was just a big team getting relegated creates a target. If NUFC were threatened with no longer existing I would be out raged and concerned for them. Takes all sorts I guess.

  20. ‘Only a banner’. True. This is just a Web page. Your point is?
It’s called banter. You give it, you have to learn to take it. There was no rivalry between us, until you took great pleasure in laughing at our demise – and far from 1%.
Nobody wants to see Villa go into liquidation, but please, don’t pretend you wouldn’t do it. You’re the idiots who started this ffs. We had no beef with Villa until those banners. Now the boot’s on the other foot and you want us to feel sorry for you? Really?
It’s called karma and hopefully will teach you a lesson in humility.

For what it’s worth, the end of the article has me stating quite clearly that I wouldn’t actually want you to go under.

That being said, you can’t mock someone’s relegation and heartache on two occasions over the last 10 years and expect that the opposition fans won’t give a bit back when the tables turn.
