Aleksandar Mitrovic drops big hint on his future ahead of next week’s World Cup

Speaking to the Serbian press, Aleksandar Mitrovic has admitted that he will ‘definitely join’ Fulham if they made an offer to sign him this summer – making it quite clear that a return to Craven Cottage is his preferred destination.

After bagging 12 goals in 17 games on the way to Fulham’s promotion back to the Premier League, Slavisa Jokanovic is said to be ‘desperate’ to sign the striker on a permanent basis – however any deal may have to wait until after the World Cup.

It’s been reported that we are demanding a fee ‘in excess’ of £20m, and that price tag may yet increase if the 23-year-old maintains his hot streak of scoring form in Russia.

Speaking to Serbian outlet RTS, here’s his telling response when asked where he’d prefer to be playing next season:

“Here? Yeah. If they made an offer, I would definitely join.”

With just under a week until the World Cup kicks off, there’s still time for Fulham to come forward with an offer, however his comments here suggest that they’re yet to table any concrete bid.

With several clubs already interested and this summer being the ideal chance to drum up interest and create a bidding war, perhaps they’ve already been told that we’ll only consider bids after the World Cup?

We shall see, but it seems almost certain that he’ll complete a move away from NUFC this summer – whether that be Fulham or not.
