Aleksandar Mitrovic continued his superb goalscoring form in 2018 on Saturday afternoon, scoring a stunning hat-trick during Serbia’s 5-1 win over Bolivia.
Not only was this the perfect confidence boost for the striker ahead of next weeks’ World Cup (not that he needed one!), this also meant he became the first player to score a hat-trick for Serbia since they became an independent nation.
Here’s each one of his three goals – including an outstanding solo goal from range to complete his hat-trick:

A smart header, an emphatic one on one and a brilliant long range strike – a player who looks a completely different animal after a stunning few months at Fulham.
He’s now scored 14 goals in his last 18 games for Serbia and 12 in 17 Championship starts for Fulham – meaning he has 24 goals in his last 26 games for club and country.
Should Rafa be taking a second look at him? Either way, this can only be good news for NUFC. It’ll either up his chances of earning a well deserved second chance under Benitez or up our chances of receiving a fee in excess of £20m.
To be fair to mitro he has not been given a fair crack at the whip at Newcastle, I don’t think Rafa would look at him again even if he got the golden boot during the World Cup, Rafa just does not want this lad in a NUFC team for one reason or another , but hey this is football players come and go ,, good luck to the lad as i think he is a top player as good as any out there up front on his day,,
