According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United are demanding £20m for Alekasandar Mitrovic this summer – with Rafa Benitez deciding to cash in on the striker despite his impressive form in 2018.
This is a funny one. A figure of £20m was the initial fee that was being touted about following his superb form with Fulham, but the Chronicle recently stated that his hat-trick for Serbia and potential form at the World Cup could see us demand closer to £30m.
It seems unlikely that we’d get that sort of fee (£30m) when you consider that Brighton were only offering £8m for him just a few months ago in January – although it’ll be argued that he’s worth more than £20m if he was a good World Cup.
No big surprise but #skysources telling us that Aleksandar Mitrovic is for sale. #nufc looking for around £20m. Latest on @SkySportsNewsHQ. Could be a bargain for someone. Not ideal for Rafa's system.

We’re in a position of strength when it comes to Mitrovic – he’s in the form of his life, he’s a good age and a player several teams seem to have their eye on, however we must play this one carefully.
Whilst we’ll want to get the best fee possible, his sale seems essential in funding a move for any new striker – so we’ll have to find the balance between cashing in in good time and getting a good price.
What do you think he’s worth folks? I think he’s worth £20m now, but a good tournament in Russia and we should be looking at £25m.
If Mitro is sold for 20 million Ashley will probably pocket 15 and release funds of the remainder .Under his ownership he has no desire ,ambition or respect for the fans .I for one can’t see Rafa staying at a club working to the restraints that Ashley has in place.Another tuff season is ahead…Kenny Liddle..NUFC.

Detail missed by the story: Fulham, before winning promotion, were on record that they can afford offering 15£mil for him. Not really an official offer but official statement late in the season… With promotion and PL money…they could very well up the offer to20.
