NUFC fans make very interesting comments after watching Nicolai Jorgensen for the first time

Remember Nicolai Jorgensen? The Feyenoord striker we lodged bids to sign back in January? Well he was in World Cup action for Denmark yesterday and Newcastle fans had their say on his performance – and it’s fair to say that most were not impressed.

There was some who felt he looked like the sort of striker Rafa likes – being fairly mobile for a big man and putting in a real shift (see tweet below), however the majority seemed to think he looked like a real bullet dodged as he helped the Danes to a 1-0 win over Peru.

Here’s some tweets on the 6ft 3′ striker as NUFC fans reacted to his performance on social media:

“That Danish striker Jorgensen is bloody terrible. Newcastle are lucky they didn’t pay 20mil to get him!”

“It’s just one game. But he was awful. Hardly saw the ball, and when he did he was no strong enough. Very unimpressed with his game today.”

“Jorgensen – slow, soft, no first touch… no thanks”

“Difficult to say on 1 game, but …. looks slow, 1st touch poor, didn’t pull any saplings up never mind trees. Will save judgement until the end of the group stage.”

“Poor player tbh. A blonde Joselu that can move a little better”

“Jorgensen is hopeless. Well haggled Charnley, for once.”

“Worked hard and had some decent touches, but he also lost possession easily a fair few times”

“Jørgensen has been an incredibly frustrating watch…”

“Mitrovic a better player by far!”

Over 70% voted no in response to the poll above.

The Chronicle claim we still hold interest in the 27-year-old, but based on his sluggish display yesterday I think there’ll be plenty hoping we look elsewhere!
