According to reports in the Middle East, reported NUFC target Adama Traore has a release clause of £18m – with this believed to have been activated as Middlesbrough failed to earn promotion last season.
This comes from leading Saudi publication Arab News, who claim that the Qatar owned PSG are interested in signing the Spain U-21 international after learning about this alleged release clause – with him being considered to ‘help bring their finances into compliance with Uefa Financial Fair Play’.
He has big potential, but it seems unlikely that they’d bring him into a squad that contains the likes of Neymar and Mbappe, making us wonder if Rafa Benitez could resurrect his interest in the winger?

£18m is still a huge chunk to pay on a player who’s yet to prove himself in the Premier League, but his potential, pace and power is their for all to see – and his 5 goals and 12 assists last season also showed signs of his final ball improving.
With Newcastle believed to have been quoted fees of £20m and above for Kenedy and Townsend recently, is a £18m deal for Traore something we should look at?
It was claimed just a few weeks ago that Benitez was a ‘admirer’ of his, so this could be one to watch.
Boro would take your arm off for £18m…
Like Mitro and Gayle he is a great player in the Championship, not as good as Atsu or Murphy, and couldn’t lace the boots of Ritchie..

Rafa will already know of this release clause if true and hasn’t made a move yet!
