Transfer talk – a round-up of today’s NUFC news & gossip – 10/07/2018

A round up of all of today’s news & transfer gossip:

  • Kenedy has completed his medical at NUFC and looks all set to sign on a season long loan – There’s no option to buy him as it stands, but it’s reported that we’ll have the ‘first option’ to sign him next summer once the loan ends – Full story here.
  • Sky Sports have confirmed that Newcastle United have rejected an ‘out of hand’ bid from West Ham for Jamaal Lascelles – with the Hammers offering just £20m rising to £25m – Full story here. 
  • Rafa Benitez has confirmed that Jamaal Lascelles is NOT for sale, also admitting that Kenedy is ‘very close’ to completing a move back to NUFC- Full story here. 
  • Sky Sports also claim that Rafa Benitez is keen to bring Andros Townsend back to NUFC and has been told that Crystal Palace are willing to sell him for £17m – Full story here. 

  • According to reports in France, Nice striker Alassane Plea is now ‘ready’ to complete a move to Borussia Mönchengladbach after the Bundesliga side made an offer of £20.5m ‘plus bonuses’ for the Frenchman – Full story here. 
  • An intriguing picture has been shared on Twitter today, showing club cameramen filming what *might* just be a potential new signing wearing the new NUFC kit on the Quayside – See picture here. 
  • According to freelance Wolves journalist Tim Nash, Newcastle are now ‘in the hunt’ to sign Manchester City Oleksandr Zinchenko – despite Wolves having agreed a fee to sign the highly-rated 21-year-old – Full story here. 
  • Ex-NUFC defender Steve Taylor has completed a move to the A-League, and his comments in his opening press conference are absolutely priceless – with him claiming that the A-League is ‘one of the best leagues in the world‘ – See his comments here.
