According to reports in Portugal today, Chancel Mbemba has already undergone a medical and agrees terms with Porto – however the deal could yet collapse with Newcastle refusing to budget on their £8m asking price.
The story claims that Porto were expecting to seal a deal at £6.2m, although it seems as though we’re refusing to accept anything less than £8m – leaving the two clubs £2m apart on valuation.
Portuguese paper ‘A Bola‘ claim that in ‘usual circumstances’, Porto would have ‘walked away’ from the deal, however it’s claim that they remain keen to find a solution and will ‘keep pushing’ until the a price can be agreed on.

With Mbemba nowhere to be seen at our-pre-season camp in Ireland and clearly not in Rafa Benitez’s plans, let’s hope a deal be sorted out as soon as possible – especially when Rafa’s comments today have stressed the importance of player sales.
€2 million difference in fee. Wake up Ashley/ Charnley you’re going to save that on his wages.
