Newcastle in talks with Liverpool over surprise ‘permanent deal’ – Reporter

According to Merseyside reporter Oliver Bond, Newcastle are now pursuing a deal to sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi on a PERMANENT basis.

The 23-year-old Belgian international spent last season on loan at Wolfsburg. Whilst he only managed 7 goals during their struggling season in the Bundesliga, his record at Liverpool in the two seasons before wasn’t all that bad.

Considering most of his appearances came from the bench, he did well to get into double figures in both, scoring 11 in 2016/17 and 10 in 2015/16.

Here’s what Oliver Bond’s had to say on the deal today, confirming that we’ve now shown interest in securing the striker on a permanent deal – despite a loan move being mentioned earlier in the week.

This would be a good signing for me – especially on a permanent deal.

He’s not the finished article, but there’s real potential here. with him having the raw attributes in his locker to become a very useful striker under Benitez’s guidance.

Would you be happy with him folks? A potential Rondon alternative for Rafa?

  1. As a Liverpool fan, I think it’s a good deal. Game time will be difficult and he needs that more than anything. Good move for all parties.

  2. Really frustrating with this as I’m convinced both will come good. Origi was sensational for Liverpool before getting crocked by Funes Mori in the Derby game and Ings looks really dangerous in front of goal. Will be sad if they leave, we should include buy back clauses for both of the.

  3. Would be an welcome addition however we need proven striker which origi not.he may have potential in the future but under ashley frugal ownership the here and now is most important

  4. Get this lad in, and bring rondon in on a loan basis. Promise him if he shows what he can do, deal will be permanent next year.
All the while Origi is snapping at his heels for the striker spot.
No price was mentioned in your article, what are Liverpool asking?
