Midfielder ‘agrees’ move away from NUFC – Three players now set to leave this week

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest have now agreed a deal with Newcastle to take Jack Colback on a season-long loan – with Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba also set to follow him out the exit door over the comings days.

The Northern Echo report this afternoon that Aleksandar Mitrovic is now ‘days away’ from sealing a £20m move to Fulham – suggesting it should be done over the weekend – whilst a breakthrough has also been reported regarding Chancel Mbemba’s move to Porto.

Portuguese outlet ‘Record’ state that we have now agreed to lower our asking price for the Congolese defender, claiming that his permanent move to Porto is now ‘imminent’ as a result and expected to be finalised in the ‘next few’ days.

Regarding Colback, it may be a loan move but this will effectively end his Newcastle career. His contract expires next summer, so he will be free to leave once he ‘returns’ from the Championship side next summer.

Here’s what the Mail have said in the last few moments, claiming a loan move has now been agreed:

“Nottingham Forest have agreed a season loan for Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback.

“The 28-year-old midfielder has no future under Rafa Benitez at Newcastle and enjoyed a loan spell at the City Ground last season when he made 16 appearances and scored one goal.”

With this expected to earn us just over £25m and trim the wage bill, let’s hope this kick-starts our summer business and leads to some much needed incomings.

With just 21 days of the window left to run, it’s time we got going!
