As confirmed by the Chronicle in the last few moments, Newcastle have now rejected a ‘cheeky’ offer from West Brom to sign Dwight Gayle on a season-long loan deal.
It was claimed by the Mail last night that the NUFC number 9 could become involved in a deal that would see Salomon Rondon come the other way, however it seems as though Rafa Benitez has no intention of letting Gayle go.
Signing Rondon at Gayle’s expense may be seen as a slight upgrae for NUFC, but would not solve our problems up front. It would still leave us with another striker to sign.
The Chronicle claim that West Brom have been given the option to sign Rolando Aarons instead, but it doesn’t sound like Darren Moore is all too keen, having already turned down the opportunity to sign him this summer.
It’s ironic really and a taste of our own medicine, with us having had a loan bid rejected for Rondon ourselves – an offer that is perhaps even more cheeky given Rondon’s entering the final year of his contract with the Baggies.
This one’s getting messy and more time is being wasted. Will we ever learn?
Mike Ashley is playing a very dangerous game, yes he owns the club, but he needs to remember that without the fans he doesn’t have a club ,do your self a favour Ashley back Rafa now and maybe you will save yourself a load of grief. 😈 😈
