According to The Chronicle, Rafa Benitez looks set to have Yoshinori Muto, Mo Diame and Martin Dubravka available for selection against Tottenham on Saturday.
Muto – our new £9.5m striker – was unable to feature in last weekend’s pre-season defeat to Augsburg due to him needing to sort ‘visa formalities’, however he’s now training with the squad and in contention to be involved on Saturday – providing Benitez feels he’s match fit.
The Chronicle also claim that both Mo Diame and Martin Dubravka have been ‘passed fit’ for the game – coming as a real relief given their outstanding form over the second half of last season.
Diame limped off inside the 30-minute mark against Augsburg on Saturday, appearing to be holding his hip, however Lee Ryder has confirmed that he came through training ‘unscathed’ yesterday.
Dubravka missed out entirely over the weekend with an unknown knock, but it also sounds as though he’ll be fine for the visit of Spurs.
There’s been no news yet on Rondon’s availability.
