According to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie, Federico Fernandez’s move to Newcastle WILL go through today – confirming that the ‘deal sheets’ were handed over to the Premier League before the 5pm deadline.
With the transfer window now being officially closed, some fans will be worried to see no pictures of Federico Fernandez holding up the black and white jersey on the club’s official site – however Sky have insisted that there’s nothing to worry about on the Fernandez front.
The player travelled to Tyneside for a medical this afternoon after the two club’s agreed a £6m fee and, even though the deal is yet to be announced, it’s been confirmed that all the necessary paperwork was sent to the Premier League before the 5pm deadline.
Here’s confirmation of that from Sky’s Keith Downie:

This has also been confirmed by The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder in the last few moments, stating that there’s been ‘no late hitches’ in the deal – meaning he should be announced as Newcastle United player later tonight.

Cashley is officially taller when he sits down due to the money in his back pocket, my only hope is that he falls off the wedge and breaks his neck.
