NUFC outcast finally agrees move away – £35,000 off the wage bill for Mike Ashley – Report

According to reports in Turkey, Bursaspor have now decided to sign Newcastle’s Henri Saivet – with the Senegalese midfielder believed to have already agreed personal terms with the Super Lig side.

The former Bordeaux man is clearly not in Rafa Benitez’s plans – having not featured at all in pre-season and failing to even be given a squad number for the 2018/19 season – and it looks like he’ll be on his way soon enough.

Turkish paper ‘Olay’ claim that they’ve now decided to make a move for Saivet after failing to land Marcio Mossoro and Cristobal Jorquera, although it’s not specified whether it’ll be a permanent deal or loan move.

If this does turn out to be the case, it looks like it could be another £35,000 – with The Chronicle claiming that both he and Lazaar are currently on substantial wage packets:

“Both players (Saivet and Lazaar) are currently earning around £35,000 per week each putting the club’s wage budget under further strain.”

Whilst the window for incoming signings shut on Thursday 9th August (5pm) for us, it’s worth reminding fans that we’ll still be able to sell or loan out players to the vast majority of foreign teams until August 31st.
