After being pictured in a Newcastle United top as a young player, Dimitar Berbatov is back at it again – with the ex-Man Utd and Spurs star shown sporting his retro Brown Ale shirt on social media yesterday.
The Bulgarian admitted back in 2016 that Alan Shearer was his ‘childhood hero’, and it seems the striker has been a Newcastle United fan ever since.
Berbatov is actually available on a free, having played in France, Greece and India since leaving Fulham in 2014, but don’t worry, we’re not expecting Rafa to sign the 37-year old!

He was actually linked with a surprise move to Tyneside in January last year, however nothing materialised.
Here’s what he had to say back in 2016 when asked who his childhood hero was – admitting that it was and still is Alan Shearer:
“It was and still is Alan Shearer. Shearer was my hero just about scoring goals from everywhere, hitting people with elbows, fighting for the ball, scoring from every angle possible. Of course his celebration, raising his hand, it was just beautiful.”
