Sky Sports claim yet another NUFC exit is about to be confirmed

According to Sky Sports, Henri Saivet will now complete a move to Bursaspor after completing his medical this morning – however the deal will be a season-long loan and NOT a permanent transfer.

The Senegalese international joined the club two and a half years ago after a £5m move from Bordeaux, however he’s gone on to make just five Premier League appearances for the club.

Despite Hayden wanting out and both Merino and Colback leaving the club, the 27-year-old clearly has no place in Benitez’s plans, with him failing to even be handed a squad number ahead of the new season.

Here’s a snippet from Sky’s piece today, confirming that he’ll complete a move to Bursaspor and has already trained with his new team mates after a medical earlier today:

‘Newcastle midfielder Henri Saivet will complete a season-long loan to Bursaspor.

‘The Senegal midfielder will train with his new team-mates after having his medical on Thursday morning.’

So, it’s yet another loan move for Saivet, but hopefully he can impress and seal a permanent transfer as a result – something he was unable to do after recent temporary stints with St Etienne (2016/17) and Sivasspor (2017/18).

He may not be the only senior player to leave the club over the final few weeks of August, with Achraf Lazaar tipped to join Genoa ater ‘positive talks’ and Rolando Aarons offered to several Championship sides on loan.
