West Brom fans have their say on Dwight Gayle after first home start – Very interesting comments

After making his first start at The Hawthorns on Saturday in their 7-1 win over QPR, West Brom fans have had their say on Dwight Gayle – and it seems he may be a fan favourite already!

Gayle made his first start in their 4-3 win away to Norwich last weekend – winning a penalty which was converted by Jay Rodriguez – and he also made an immediate impact on his first appearance at The Hawthorns on Saturday; scoring in their emphatic win over Steve McClaren’s side.

Here’s what West Brom fans have had to say about him on Twitter when reacting to his performance over the weekend:

“Dwight Gayle constantly terrorises defenders, never gives up and has a natural hunger and passion for the game. As soon as he came on at Forest you could see the difference he made. He is what we have been crying out for for a very long time. Love him.

“My MOTM Dwight Gayle who was outstanding not only he scored and won both penalties, he’s movement and non stop running, putting defenders under pressure and he’s appetite to win the ball back if he lost it

“I want to talk about Dwight Gayle. Man of the match today for me. He may have only scored one, but Gayle’s persistence and work rate also won us the two penalties. He makes movements that I’ve seen no one make for us since Super Kev. A clever, wily, relentless player.”

“Think i have an emotional attachment to Dwight Gayle already, mans won 3 pens in two games and bagged, what a baller.”

“Gayle, one goal so far, but has won three penalties and seems to constantly find that yard of space where there is none. Brilliant pivot for us on the attack. Certain to get goals and create them.”

“If Rondon wants out of WBA can’t we just do a straight swap for Gayle.”

“Dwight Gayle in this league is a masterstroke.”

“Dwight Gayle has been the difference in this side. I think it illustrates that we haven’t had a natural finisher in the side since the petulant child left. Causes all kinds of problems. Glad he got his goal. Darren Moore’s team is starting to click, and it’s awesome.”

“Dwight Gayle still 16/1 to be top Championship goal scorer with SkyBet and Bet365. Honestly think he could score 30+ for WBA this season!”

“Gayle on permanents would be just fantastic business.”

It’s fair to say they’ve been left impressed – although we all know how good he is at that level..

Hopefully Salomon Rondon can have a similar impact for us when fully fit – starting with Chelsea at home on Sunday!
