Lee Charnley lets down NUFC fans once again – Pathetic from the club

NUFC have announced that the Fans Forum due to take place today has been cancelled at the last minute as Managing Director Lee Charnley is now ‘unavailable.’

A tentative new date of 24th September has been suggested but this is again another abysmal lack of communication from the board with the fans.

The forum is the one chance fans have to communicate with the board and after this summer, they have a lot of explaining to do. There is of course the rightful concern that previous forums have been filtered, as in only ‘easy’ questions have been asked/censored by club representatives. A lack of regular, open and open communication is major flaw of the Ashley regime.

Lee Charnley has not given an interview this year, the only communication being the pathetic and staged ‘letter’ after the horrendous penny pinching of the summer. Ashley’s PR man, Keith Bishop, apparently thinks fan protests will blow over in a month – which would perhaps explain this sudden postponement of the forum. No doubt fans would like answers as to why we made a profit in the summer, why we don’t back our manager and what are the plans for success on the pitch?

I don’t hold my breath to any of these questions answered but this week is another chapter is the sorry state of affairs of being a NUFC fan under Ashley. The board need to be accountable and we need answers.
