According to Foot Mercato, Ligue 1 side SM Caen are now in talks with Newcastle over a deal to sign Rolando Aarons on a season-long loan deal.
The 22-year-old has clearly been told he can leave this summer, having failed to feature much over pre-season and missing out on all our matchday squads so far this season.
The Mirror report that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, Hull City and Greek side AEK Athens are also interested in a temporary deal for the winger, however it’s now being reported in France that Caen are keen.

If he does secure a move to France, let’s hope it goes better than his stint in Italy did earlier in the year.
He moved to Serie A strugglers Hellas Verona back in January, but went on to play just 519 minutes of football – failing to notch a single goal or assist.
