According to Martin Dubravka, Newcastle United teammate Jonjo Shelvey is the most ‘technically gifted’ player he has ever played with – saying it is ‘unbelievable’ to watch his passing in training.
Despite missing out on England’s recent World Cup squad, many have described Shelvey as the best passer of a football in the country – and it seems Dubravka would back up those claims based on his comments here.
Here’s what he’s had to say about Jonjo after speaking to the Slovakian press during the international break:
“Jonjo Shelvey is the most technically gifted player I have very played with.
“I watch him passing in training. It’s unbelievable!”

We may have ran the likes of Chelsea and Man City fairly close in terms of scoreline, however we really did miss Jonjo Shelvey.
His ability to create from deep is second to none, meaning he could’ve been the man to unlock the door and pick out an isolated Salomon Rondon when the team was sat deep.
I think it’s fair to say Jonjo is easily our most gifted footballer. He makes us tick and, in a team that lacks quality, we really do miss him when he’s gone.
Hopefully he will be back from injury against Arsenal – a game we look more likely to attack after some very cautious approaches in recent weeks.
