Magpie Group reveal new protest plans at St James’ Park – The pressure is increasing on Ashley

The Magpie Group have released details of the latest anti-Ashley protest, with fans urged to turn up outside St James’ Park at 2.15pm before Saturday’s game with Leicester to make their feelings known.

Whilst group’s initial protests centred around the Sports Direct on Northumberland Street, there was a brilliant turn out just a few weeks ago when the pre-match remonstrating was brought a little closer to home outside the St James’ Park club shop (now run by Sports Direct) before the Arsenal game.

With this in mind, it seems the Magpie Group plan to up the ante and continue protesting outside the official ‘club’ store – with them urging fans to spread the word and turn up in numbers to keep the pressure on Mike Ashley.

The protest is set to take place for half an hour, starting at 2.15pm and ending at 2.45pm prior to kick off on Saturday.

Disagree with it? Fine, but don’t knock those fighting to change OUR club for the better.

Will you be there?

  1. What I would try to encourage, is for fans to stay outside the stadium for the first 10 minutes of the home matches. Just boycott 10 mins to make a point. An empty stadium for the first 10 mins would really make a visible point that fans have had enough. After 10 mins, go in and support that team as usual.
