A worrying exclusive has emerged from the Daily Mail in the last few moments, with Craig Hope claiming that Paul Dummett and Federico Fernandez are now OUT of tomorrow’s game with Leicester with hamstring injuries.
DeAndre Yedlin is also facing a ‘late fitness test’ after having trouble with his ankle, but injuries to Dummett and Fernandez mean both they and striker Salomon Rondon will sit out of tomorrow’s game.
Here’s a snippet from The Mail’s latest piece:
‘Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has been dealt a major blow in his search for a first win of the season with key defenders Paul Dummett and Federico Fernandez set to miss Saturday’s visit of Leicester.
‘Sportsmail understands the pair – who were both set to start – have been ruled out after picking up hamstring injuries.
‘We can also reveal that fellow defender DeAndre Yedlin is struggling with an ankle complaint but should come through a fitness test.
‘It means Benitez will be forced to shuffle his pack at the back with Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark and Fabian Schar all now vying for a place in the team.’
A real blow less than 24 hours before kick off.
Who now comes in? Manquillo, Clark and Kenedy are options at left-back, and it’ll either be Schar or Clark who comes in at centre-back.
If I had to guess, it’ll be Manquillo at left-back and Clark in the middle.
Only way out of this is double relegation he will go with nothing left then we can start again should of happened years ago
