The alternative NUFC side I’d love to see Benitez go with at Man Utd tomorrow – FOUR changes

With Newcastle struggling at the bottom of the table, some changes are needed to the team after the very poor display against Leicester last weekend.

Man Utd are vulnerable themselves after a terrible start to the campaign by their standards and the good news is that we have a fully fit squad apart from Rondon, who still frustratingly is out when we need him most.

Here is the side I would like to Rafa deploy at Old Trafford:

(4-2-3-1)- Dubravka – Yedlin, Lascelles, Fernandez, Dummett – Diame, Shelvey – Ritchie, Murphy, Kenedy – Muto

Clark, Atsu, Perez and Josely OUT – Fernandez, Dummett, Murphy and Muto IN

Considering Joselu’s total lack of threat when isolated, I’d like to see Rafa go with Muto up front, with him looking more lively than Perez and Joselu combined in his recent cameo appearance against Leicester. After all, if he can’t get into the side now when our first choice is injured, it doesn’t look great for him.

Murphy hasn’t set the world alight but, after last week can’t be worse than Perez, who was very poor. He loses possession far too much and being away from home Murphy may give us some pace on the break and the ability to carry the ball. Murphy needs to deliver this year so we need to give him a run of games to prove himself.

Fernandez and Dummett coming back in are no brainers. We missed them last weekend and Fernandez particularly has shone in a poor NUFC side so far this season.

Dummett is solid but more importantly means we can push Kenedy further up which is where we need him most  – and he too must find some form too after being largely disappointing so far this season.

What team would you go with? Considering our poor form but also that of Manchester United, can we nick a point?
