Rafa Benitez has confirmed that both Kenedy and Yoshinori Muto will now being ‘assessed’ in the coming days after coming off the pitch ‘injured’ during Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Man Utd.
Rafa said that he’s hopeful that neither will be serious, however both Paul Dummett and Salomon Rondon are also facing a battle to be fit for the game – with both missing the trip to Old Trafford with hamstring/thigh injuries respectively and Dummett withdrawing from this week’s Welsh squad as a result.
Here’s what Rafa’s had to say after Saturday’s game, confirming that both Muto and Kenedy were brought of with injuries:
“It is a pity that both players – Kenedy and Muto – left the pitch injured.
“Hopefully, it will not be serious.”
” Paul Dummett will also be checked.”
It doesn’t sound like any of these are serious, but it may be vital that there’s now a two week break until our next game with Brighton; especially when you consider how good Kenedy and Muto were at Man Utd and how short at left-back without Dummett.
Let’s hope Muto and Kenedy are fine and that Dummett and Rondon can recover in time for Brighton.
It’s a huge game and having all four fit could be key – especially after the impact our two goalscorer’s had on Saturday’s game.
