Once again our lack of quality up front was telling. I am one of Rafa”s biggest fans but there is no doubt any other Newcastle manager would have been shown the door.
The worst start in the club’s history is an unenviable record for all involved.
With six goals in nine games, we are on for a season tally of 26 goals. Oh for an Andy Cole and that 93 – 94 season when our number 9’s solo effort was 41 goals.
The fans understand that the lack of investment is the root cause of the problem, but come on! We should still have enough to take on Cardiff and Brighton.
What can Rafa and the team offer against Southampton next week as the pressure builds?
Mr Ashley will be happy with survival and will apparently fund a holiday for each of the squad if they succeed. Is this really the sum of aspirations at Newcastle United?
I have read that the fans didn’t get behind the team against Brighton. If Rafa loses that good will, I fear the writing is on the wall.
Keep the faith!!
