Salomon Rondon posts message to NUFC fans on social media after a month out

Salomon Rondon has sent a promising message to NUFC fans following his return to first-team training – posting ‘Hello, I’m back!’ on social media today.

The striker has missed our last four games after injuring his thigh in last month’s trip to Crystal Palace. Many hoped he’d be back in time for Brighton on Saturday, however it seems Benitez was not prepared to risk him.

Thankfully, he’s been spotted taking part in training today, suggesting he has every chance of returning for Saturday’s crucial game away to Southampton.

Here’s what he’s posted on Twitter today following his return:

Whilst Muto did brilliantly at Old Trafford, we were missing a physical presence in the box against Brighton – with us failing to convert despite a stunning 41 crosses, 27 shots and 68% possession.

Let’s hope he can show Rafa that he’s ready in training, return to the squad on Saturday and give us that big attacking boost we so desperately need right now.

I’d love to see him start (especially alongside Muto), but I suspect he may have to settle for a place on the bench if he makes it.

  1. Definitely like to see both Rondon and Muto start. Muto’s a real live wire but lacks physical presence and could benefit greatly from Rondon bullying centre backs so he can pick up the knockdowns.
Got to be a better option than Perez who seems to have gone backwards rapidly.

Totally agree mate – those two could work very well together!
