After a poll was put up on Twitter asking fans if they will boycott December’s home game with Wolves, a stunning 79% said they WOULD boycott – with just 21% of NUFC fans voting against this.
The poll got just over 3,000 votes, asking ‘regulars’ at St James’ Park whether they would miss the game with Wolves in a bid to protest against Mike Ashley.
This comes after The Magpie Group confirmed plans to boycott the Wolves game in just over a month’s time, with the fixture set to be shown live on Sky – meaning fans will be able to watch it at home or in pubs, as well as the TV cameras being present to cover the big protest against Ashley.
Here’s the results of the poll:
It seems to be the big discussion point tonight and, to be fair, plenty of people have been pushing it for weeks.
So, if you’re a regular at #NUFC what do you think?
Boycott Wolves?

Let’s be honest, there’s little to no chance St James’ Park will be 21% full come December 9th, however it is promising to hear that 79% of fans taking part in this poll confirmed that they WILL be boycotting.
One thing to take into account here is that this comes from Twitter page @IfRafaGoesWeGo – a protest group which will no doubt have several followers who are very much anti-Ashley and therefore more likely to get involved in protests.
It’s a tough one. Benitez is asking the fans to support the team and ‘stick together’, however so many of us fans realise that the only way to get rid of Ashley is to hit him where it hurts and show him we’re serious about forcing him out.
What will you be doing come December 9th? Will you be boycotting?
PROTEST PLANS
We’ve consulted as many fans as possible to come up with our next phase of protests against Ashley’s running of our football club.#UnitedAgainstAshley #AshleyOut pic.twitter.com/WZaCvWuJzB

What a load of rubbish
Consider how many ‘regulars’ are on twitter

The flaws in their cunning poll?
It was a poll carried out by ‘If Rafa Goes We Go’ – so lets have a guess which way their followers are leaning…….
Regulars? So we are 100% sure that everyone who voted regularly attends games?
Marketing philosophy suggests that people are 10 times more likely to register a complaint than a compliment. So if you have 10 happy people and 10 unhappy people, all 10 moaners will vote while of those who are happy will sit there quietly with only one commenting.
Tells us nothing really.
I still say that a walk out is better than a walk in. By the time the fans walk in we could be 2 or 3 down.

If you want to hit Ashley in the pocket STOP BUYING FOOD and DRINK in the grounds. Buy it at a local shop.

How is that hitting Ashley in the pocket ,most fans are season ticket holders.

I do say this in the piece in fairness.

The food and drink outlets in the club are not run by nufc its a private company they pay the club a yearly rental so it wont hit any profits for Ashley or club
