Reports in the US yesterday claimed that Mike Ashley was in America to ‘finalise’ a deal with a mystery consortium. This potentially exciting news has been dampened by usually reliable North East reporter Luke Edwards, who has claimed that this is NOT the case.
Here’s what he’s had to say in reaction to yesterday’s ‘news’ from the US:
My understanding from these tweets is that there HAS been some interest from America , but Ashley and co. have dismissed their credibility and stated that no deal is close.
Ashley appears to only be interested in talking to potential buyers with concrete interest, however it is still thought the asking price for the club is far too high.
This bodes the question as to whether or not Ashley is REALLY serious about selling and he seems reluctant to actively discuss a sale with anyone unless they show him the money first.
Another slice of BS anyone?

Not going to read any more of these stupid rumours. I will believe in a sale when it has actually gone through.

Ashley has no intention to sell the club and never will as long as it generates any profit for him. You cannot believe a word this proven liar says
