West Ham star could now miss NUFC game – with 5 ruled out and 2 set to start on the bench

Some potentially good news for Newcastle ahead of Saturday’s game with West Ham, with their star striker Marko Arnautovic facing a race against time to be fit for the game – with up to SEVEN other first team players also at risk of missing out.

The Austrian isn’t the only one who could miss the game either, with the London Evening Standard confirming that Winston Reid (Knee), Carlos Sanchez (Knee), Andriy Yarmolenko (Achilles), Manuel Lanzini (ACL) and Ryan Fredericks (Fibula) will also be sidelined.

Then there’s Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere. The injury prone duo are closing in one comebacks, however it’s expected that both will have to settle for a place on the bench at best if they’re to make Saturday’s game.

Arnautovic is a bit of a maverick, but there’s no doubt that he’s West Ham’s go-to guy and their biggest attacking threat – having been involved in 25 goals in the last season and a half in the league alone.

He’s been receiving pain killing injections over the past few weeks and has been struggling to train, however he was forced off during their 4-0 defeat against Man City over the weekend – so it would be a big risk if Pellegrini played him this weekend.

It’s often best for focus on ourselves, with our fate often determined by whether we turn up and not our opposition, but there can be no denying that West Ham’s injury issues could serve to benefit us this weekend.

With this in mind, Newcastle look a good bet to get another win at 7/5. Click here to bet on the Toon against West Ham this weekend and get yourself a FREE £10 bet.
