NUFC fan reveals what Mike Ashley told him when he was confronted in London yesterday

After a member of the London Magpie Group confronted Mike Ashley on Monday, the NUFC owner is believed to have ignored his questions, simply saying “don’t bother me no more!”.

It’s no more than we’d expect from Ashley – a man whose inability to communicate has been shown up over the last 10 years – although we don’t know how we was approached by this member of the London-based protest group.

It’s also believed that he completely ignored the fan when asked if he’d be backing Benitez in January – also refusing to comment on questions about the sale of the club. It’s worth noting this happened BEFORE his intriguing takeover interview with Sky on Tuesday night.

Here’s what’s been said on social media since their altercation today:

After Saturday’s 11-minute walk in flopped quite badly, with ‘under 1,000 people’ believed to have been involved, it’s good to see some fans are taking matters into their own hands to put pressure on Ashley.

Will it work? Who knows, but this combined with his recent comments on Sky suggest he may not be in charge of our club for too much longer.

  1. There is one thing you can say for deffinate is that being a supporter of NUFC it is never boring.
There will always be something that will be reported in the media. Takeovers, Managers, Transfers, everyone of them fuelled by rumours by the Nationals. It seems to me that when they have nothing to report “Oh let’s make something up about NUFC!”
Oh and don’t forget “Those NUFC supporters expectations are far too high, so let’s bring them down to real life!” Now don’t get me started on T.V. pundits like Wise, Keys, Merson or Owen who seem to have a grudge about NUFC.
Now regarding this current rumour on a takeover, I agree that people find it hard to take it seriously because it is not the first time talk of a takeover has come just before a transfer window. Personally I have now become cynical to rumours like this, or transfers, until the physical evidence is presented life in front of St James’ Park.
So to all supporters may I say “Keep calm and carry on Supporting the team”.
I have been supporting the team since 1955 and will do so, through the good bad and the ugly, until they bury me!

  2. What right does the invading fan have to expect any kind of answer from Ashley?

Rather than griping about It I would have thought that Ashleys words “don’t bother me no more” is an indication that he’s on his way out.

But let’s not get silly – do you really think that having ignored 50,000 stakeholders and the protests that a question from one fan will make any difference at all?
