West Brom set to make move for senior NUFC man – despite 7 starts this season – Report

According to the Daily Mail, West Brom look set to make a move to sign Ciaran Clark in January.

The story states that  Darren Moore is keen to sign a ‘left sided’ defender ahead of their push for automatic promotion from the Championship, and it seems Clark is on their ‘list of targets’ – with him also said to be ‘within their budget’

Clark is now our fifth choice centre half and so there’s a chance he could be allowed to leave.

Despite 11 appearances this season, Lascelles , Fernandez and Schar all appear to be ahead of him in the pecking order – and he may only slip down further when Lejuene returns after a long term injury.

It is unclear if Clark is looking to move on but he may feel he has too in order to get first team football. He also spent several years at Aston Villa, so would be familiar with the area should a move back to the midlands materialise.

There’s also a possibility that we could us Clark as a bargaining tool in any potential deal to sign Rondon permanently – something we look set to pursue in January.
