Mike Ashley’s crony opens up about a NUFC takeover after recent chat with the man himself – Laughable..

In an appearance on talkSPORT this morning, Dennis Wise claims that Mike Ashley would happily sell up – but only to new owners who are going to take the club in the right direction and ‘make it happen’ for Newcastle. 

It sounds great, but it’s laughable really. He makes it appear as though Ashley has real care and love for this club, but why would a man who’s neglected us for almost 10 years really care who he was selling us on to? 

Wise admitted to meeting up with Mike recently – with him known to be chummy with the London-based NUFC owner – and although he claims not to have talked much about any takeover business, he seems adamant that Ashley will sell to the right people. 

Here’s what he’s had to say when asked directly about a potential takeover by talkSPORT’s Jim White today

“I think he will sell it if it’s the right person, I don’t think he will give it to someone who will stripe the club, he’ll only hand it over to someone who is obviously going to take it in another direction.

“And erm like pile some money in and make it happen for Newcastle.”

As I say, it’s unbelievable to suggest Ashley actually cares about this club – with this being the same man who went on holiday this time last year, leaving Rafa and a relegation threatened club in total disarray and without ANY idea of our budget heading into a crucial January window.

Hopefully we do find new owners who can take the club forward and really ‘make it happen’ for Rafa and us fans, but I don’t believe for a second that this is all Ashley cares about as far as a sale is concerned.

Proof of funds are obviously essential to complete a sale in the first place, but I don’t think Ashley’s the sort to care about someone’s ambitions on a footballing level.
