Michael Owen shares TWO staggering stats ahead of Newcastle vs Fulham

Newcastle fan favourite (ahem) Michael Owen has had his say ahead of Saturday’s game with Fulham, revealing TWO incredible stats – featuring our horrendous home form and Fulham’s horrific defending.

Owen has predicted a home win (which could be a blessing or a curse), but these following two stats stood out to be in his prediction piece for Bet Victor:

1. “No team has lost more home games in the top four tiers in English football than Newcastle United (7) this season”

We’ve lost 7 of 9 home games so far. We will be hoping to improve this worrying stat on Saturday, with our away form currently our saving grace at the moment. We need to start turning SJP into a fortress again – starting on Saturday.

2. “Fulham haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 21 PL games”

They’ve conceded 42 goals in 17 games this season , almost double the 22 we have conceded! We’ll surely be pushing to capitalise on their leaky defence, so hopefully Rafa sets up a team that is going to test them and wear down their brittle confidence levels.

Another stat mentioned by Owen was that Salomon Rondon has been involved in 5 of our last 7 league goals ( 4 goals 1 assist) – an impressive stat that shows just how crucial he’s been in recent weeks. He took a while to find his feet but hasn’t been fantastic of late, becoming such a valuable player to us who will be rubbing his hands playing at the prospective of playing against such a leaky defence on Saturday.

It promises to be an interesting game as our poor home record comes up against a struggling Fulham with a couple of sub plot also, with Mitrovic no doubt hoping to prove a point to Rafa when coming up against his former NUFC teammates.
