They called it a ‘lose-lose’ game before kick off last night, but Sunderland fans soon piped up after their senior side beat our kids 4-0 at the Stadium of Light.
In fairness, our lads more than matched them in the first half and went in at the break all square, but experience and superior levels of fitness proved pivotal in the end as they ran away with it.
There were just under 17,000 fans at the Stadium of Light, with 3,000 of those being Mags who’d made the short trip South to Wearside.
Here’s what Sunderland fans and fan accounts had to say during and after last night’s win over our youngsters:
Interesting that the Roker Report tried to suggest they were playing their kids too by starting a 17-year-old in midfield. It seems they missed the fact they had a 31-year-old, a 29-year-old, and several 26 and 25-year-old’s in their line up, however :
We saw a few amusing comments from the Mackems on Twitter and couldn’t help but get involved..
They’re a strange bunch.
Laughable there in league one and there crowing about beating our kids, just shows what a shambles Sunderland have become, senior footballers laughing because they won against a bunch a kids, need to look in the mirror and give Ur heads a shake, cu in 20 years wen Ur get back in premier league lmfao ? ? ? ? ?
