NUFC new boy spotted training with senior team for the first time – A future star at SJP?

Just a few months after arriving from BSC Young boys, summer signing Yannick Toure has been spotted training with the senior side on Thursday afternoon.

The 18-year-old striker has been dubbed one of the brightest young talents in Switzerland, having been prolific at youth level for both club and country – scoring 7 goals in 14 gamed for Young Boys’ U-21’s at the age of 16 after bagging 24 goals in 25 games for their U18’s.

He arrived at Newcastle over the summer and has been playing with our U-23’s over the last few months, scoring 1 goals in 4 appearances so far.

The 6ft 1′ forward was born in Senegal but is eligible to play for Switzerland – and recently scored two goals on his debut for the Swiss U-17 side.

Whilst first-team signings are essential right now – especially in attacking areas – it is great to see a few promising young talents emerging at the club, with Elias Sorensen being another striker who’s clearly caught Rafa’s eye.

Here’s Toure in action during his time with Young Boys and at youth level for the Swiss national side:
