Sky Sports presenter issues takeover message to Mike Ashley – and he’***** the nail on the head..

Sky Sports presenter David Jones has hit the nail on the head in a takeover message to Mike Ashley, saying you may not spend big to do up your up for sale house – but you would lower it’s asking price if you really wanted to sell..

As Jones says himself, ‘it’s not rocket science’, but this is a concept should start considering if he wants to sell up but doesn’t want to spend money on transfers to protect his £300m asset in the meantime.

Here’s what Sky Sports presenter David Jones has tweeted this morning:

He’s spot on. If your house was on the market for £300,000, but it suddenly had a broken pipe you weren’t prepared to fix, you can’t expect any buyer to pay your original asking price.

If Ashley doesn’t want to spend, then reducing his asking price is surely the only way he can expect any new owner to buy given the predicament we’re now in.

Rio Ferdinand’s ridiculous BT Sport rant included a line questioning why Ashley would sign two £30m players for a club he wants out of, but you wan’t have it both ways. He can’t expect to receive £300m for a club you’re totally neglecting – with us looking a very good bet to go down this season unless there’s investment in the final few weeks of the transfer window.

  1. At which point did the pipe break?

THe price has been 300 million near enough from the start. It’s not like we were top three and something went wrong.

We’ve been relegation fodder from the first time that Ashley put us up for sale and the price has remained the same, even though the revenue has increased.

Now we are in the bottom three and serious relegation candidates. I take your point, it’s never looked good, but things look worse than ever now.

Rafa’s contract STILL not sorted either etc..

  3. Ashley has to spend now to protect his investment. NO-ONE is going to pay £300 million for a championship club.

  4. It’s not just the 300m that the fat man wants! It’s the 100m extra that he “(“”lent the club””)”, so in essence he wants over 400m for the club! He’s just took the full tv money out of the club, plus the Carroll money, Sissoko money, Cabaye money, Mitro money! He’s sucked the soul out of the club and he’s continuing to suck the life out of us and will do until we fold because he can! No-one will buy us. I’m afraid it’s a till death us do part deal and I can’t see the fat man pegging it any time soon
