Joselu now ‘in talks’ to complete shock move away from NUFC – Report

According to reports in China and Italian outlet  Calcio Mercato, Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda are now in talks to sign Joselu.

This may be music to the ears of several fans – and I can understand why given his ability to lead the line at this level – but I still think Rafa would demand we sign a replacement before sanctioning a potential sale.

We are already short of attacking options with Muto at the Asia Cup, Gayle on loan at West Brom and Sorensen also expected to leave on a temporary basis this month. An injury or suspension to Salomon Rondon would leave us desperately short, even if we didn’t sell Joselu.

He gets plenty stick from Newcastle fans and sometimes rightly so based on his frustrating lack of ability, but he puts in enough effort – making some of the abuse he receives totally uncalled for.

He may decide enough is enough and the lure of more money in China is bound to tempt him if the rumours are true, but what he lacks in ability he clearly makes up for in attitude and temperament in Rafa’s eyes.

That doesn’t change the fact he’s just don’t think he’s good enough, however. I can’t see us letting him go until someone else is brought in.

  1. He can have my airlines for a business seat if he goes ?? in fact just in case, am going to warm the car to run him to the airport too ?? this would be better news than a takeover was actually happening ??

  2. It’s madness to release Sorenson to a loan club when we are so short of cover.
Even if the boy sits on the bench he couldn’t possibly be worse than joselu.
I don’t understand the logic with Benitez sometimes.

  3. In normal circumstances this would be a good move if Joselu was sold with someone better replacing him.
The reality is though that this is Mike Ashley’s version of a football club where players are sold without replacements coming in.

  4. Here we go again with the Sorensen garbage. He’s a kid playing 3 levels (at least ) below prem level.

Throw him in the deep end will either make him pr break him. Probably the latter. He needs more development. Why is Rafa playing Roberts and Longstaff but not him?

As for Joselu going what exactly is his “ability to lead the line at this level”. He’s ****!

  5. He couldn’t score in a Sunderland brothel with a £100 note down his trousers, its like watching Mr ****** Magoo play upfront. I am sorry heart means nothing when we need goals, Stoke may not get back in the premier league anytime soon but they are laughing their ***** off that we bought this *****.
